Greetings,

Not just children, but many adults too, have incomplete movement patterns left from infancy or caused by injury or illness later on. These movement challenges may cause unconscious, low-level stress in the body, mind, and emotions.

No matter how old we are, we can positively enhance our lives through movement.

Movement creates profound changes in the brain. Consider this finding in a 2003 study published in New England Journal of Medicine*:

"Elderly people who dance regularly decrease their risk of dementia/Alzheimer’s disease by 76%. . ."

Neurodevelopmental movements--the innate rhythmic and reflex movements of infancy--are powerful for creating mental focus, better sleep, emotional well-being, physical strength, flexibility, freedom from pain, and the ability to dance gracefully! They work for every age.

If you are thinking about doing neurodevelopmental movements for the children you serve, this could be the best gift you give yourself too!

Take time to move today!

Best wishes,
Sonia Story

Exciting case study* showcasing movements from the Brain and Sensory Foundations course .

"This child has been in therapy for many years at various facilities and the family had never seen as much improvement as they have seen in the past 6 weeks."

"I am a PT working in home care with medically fragile kids. This has been one of the most beneficial courses I have taken, and I have seen more progress in my kids with these movements [from the Brain and Sensory Foundations course] than anything else I have ever done professionally."

Brittany Hensley, PT, DPT

"This information has been extremely valuable for me to understand movement patterns, development, and HELPFUL activities to work on with kids.  This is one of those courses I wish I had been able to do 15 years ago."

Christina Windschitl, MPT

"I have truly enjoyed this course. Many courses I attend have so much information packed into 1 or 2 days that I leave feeling overwhelmed. By doing this in my own time frame, I could practice the movements myself and this has really helped me be able to retain the information. I think the Q and A's are super helpful, as you were able to expand on the information that I learned, often relating it to clients which helped me to understand how I could apply this in my own practice."   - Mary Rose, PT
